MY MOM

My Awesome Mom So I’m in the kitchen with the wisest woman I know—my mom. She’s complaining about my waking-up habits, but I know she means well. She is, without a doubt, the most wonderful woman I know: kind, caring, and loving. Her most beautiful trait is her understanding nature. Lately, I’ve been lacking sleep; I literally fall asleep at 5 PM. When I finally told my mom why I woke up late, she said only two things can keep you awake: when God wants to talk to you and when you have controlling thoughts. I cry out to God, pleading for relief from this heartache. I search for a way to navigate through the shadows, yearning for clarity and peace. Finding Strength in Vulnerability In ...

But as I grew up, everything changed. I remember vividly the first time my self-esteem took a hit—during class seven when a teacher made a comment about my changing body in front of my classmates. Their laughter echoed in my mind, planting seeds of doubt and embarrassment that would grow into years of insecurity. Transitioning into adulthood was no easier. I found myself in a world where societal expectations loomed large. Surrounded by friends flaunting their perfect figures, I struggled to accept my body. The relentless pressure to conform left me feeling like I was falling short of the “ideal” image of beauty. The Impact of Low Self-Esteem Entering university, I had high hopes for socializing and making new friends. However, I quickly discovered that my low self-esteem made me retreat into solitude, relying only on...
